Audio Artist Spotlight: jackLNDN & Spencer Brown

Christmas is almost here, and we have a few presents in store for you this holiday weekend! Tomorrow night jackLNDN brings his live set back to Audio and on Saturday, 12/23, the progressive works of Spencer Brown takes over.

Unfamiliar with either, or looking to listen a bit more before you hit the dance floor? We’re here to help.

Friday, December 22: jackLNDN

If we were to describe jackLNDN’s musical skills in a nutshell, we’d tell you this: by age 10, the London-born artist performed for, and met, the Queen and had already recorded at the iconic London studios Abbey Road. His list of skills is beyond impressive: along with choral singing, writing and conducting, he can also play the piano, cello and guitar.

Today, as a producer and DJ, JackLNDN – real name: Jack Asher – incorporates his childhood classical music training into his sound, ultimately creating an absolutely astonishing and captivating live set that often features a mixture of his own vocals, instrumental skills and beat production skills.

Saturday, December 23: Spencer Brown

A hometown hero, young Spencer Brown lives in our little 7×7 city of San Francisco. His name quickly came synonymous with progressive house music as his productions highlighted his stunning production skillset and unique twist on the genre as we know it.

Brown released his debut EP on LE7ELS, “Chalice EP”, in 2013 – the same year in which he made his live debut at the Hollywood Bowl with Avicii. The EP was later discovered by none other than Above & Beyond, who invited him to release on their iconic label Anjunabeats. As many Anjunabeats fans can probably tell you, his first Anjunabeats label release “Vernal EP” was released at the beginning of this year – a three-track EP that fearlessly drives into the mountains and valleys of progressive house.

He’ll be performing an extended set this Saturday – an ethereal adventure we are looking forward to.
