We’re continuing our four-day stint of stunning music with two incredible artists performing at the club this weekend. Tonight, we welcome internationally known producer EDX to the booth for a special deep session, followed by the West Coast-residing artist Le Youth on Saturday, December 16th for an extended set.
Each of these artists have their own unique sound, with EDX focusing more on the progressive house realm and Le Youth in an eclectic mixture of 90’s electronica, beautiful vocals and upbeat melodies.
Let’s take a look.
Friday, December 15th: EDX
Maurizio Colella – also known by his stage name, EDX – is a DJ and producer signed to well-known and well-respected label Spinnin’ Records. His sound balances between the lines of progressive, deep and electro house.
Colella entered the music production world in 1994, when he released a number of mixtapes that quickly made their way around the globe. He has a reputation for his vast and impressive remixing skills; he has put his iconic touch on tracks for artists including Bob Sinclair, Kaskade, Deadmau5, Mary J Blige, and Laidback Luke to name a few.
The artist will be performing a rare “deep session” tonight with a slew of tunes that run deeper and darker than his usual sound – which, we have no doubt, will be just as impressive. In the meantime, listen to his new track “Runnin’” below.
Saturday, December 16th: Le Youth
Hailing from Toledo, Ohio but currently residing in Los Angeles, Le Youth has a signature sound that stands out among much of today’s existing electronic music. It keeps a lighthearted touch on an electronic groove that puts a modern twist on old-school 90’s electronic music.
The producer got his kicks in the electronic music industry when he moved to Seattle post-high school and was introduced to sequencers and drum machines while working at a record shop. He captivated hearts across the globe when his first track, “Cool”, blew up on Soundcloud in 2013 – it quickly garnered over 200,000 plays and has since reached almost 3 million plays.
This night is also a particularly special evening, as the Mixmag crew will be broadcasting Le Youth’s set live from the club — our first livestream from Audio.
